A team from the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) held several meetings with the member countries participating in the 13th edition of the African Games, which concluded yesterday in Ghana.
The meetings were held with 19 National Olympic Committees from the member countries participating at the Games. The ISSA team conveyed greetings from HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the ISSA, and the Board of Directors, praising the effective presence of ISSA member countries at the African Games and the distinguished results achieved.
The meetings included workshops to explain the ISSA's new strategy and the strategic focus areas that will contribute to achieving its goals in partnership with the National Olympic Committees of the member countries.
The National Olympic Committees discussed priorities for establishing programs and projects that enhance the ISSA’s and the sports movement's roles.
The Secretary General of the ISSA, Nasser Majali, emphasized that these meetings are essential for building a genuine partnership with the member countries and developing preliminary concepts for working with the National Olympic Committees to serve sports, athletes and the entire system through projects and programs.
Majali said, "In the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association, we look forward to enhancing partnerships with member countries, and such sports events are the right place to meet with the largest number of countries.
" He added, "These meetings will contribute to implementing the programs and projects we aspire to, which will enhance the sports system of the member countries."
The Secretary General of the ISSA also praised the outstanding performance of the member countries during their participation in the African Games, congratulated the achievements made, and wished them more success and accomplishments in upcoming events.
