Albania's Collaboration With ISSA
The Albanian National Olympic Committee was established in 1958 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1959.
Albania began participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games starting from the fourth edition in 2017.

Zelimkhan Abakarov
At the fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games, wrestler Zelimkhan Abakarov made history by securing Albania’s first-ever medal in the competition. He won the silver medal in the 65 kg wrestling category.
